Sister love

While a friend was visiting Denver for the first time we made a trip to Red Rocks. The girls had a blast hanging out on the floor of the visitor center. I normally wouldn't allow this behavior in public but we had had a long drive prior to stopping and they needed to release some energy. I decided to let kids be kids and enjoyed watching them have fun together. Thankfully we were pretty much the only patrons there at the time. Taylor and Kennedy are becoming almost inseparable these days. It is so fun to watch their relationship grow.

Prima Ballerina

Taylor started her first ballet class this week. She absolutely loved learning how to be a real ballerina! She did really well for her first time and only occasionally got distracted by how cute she looked with so many mirrors around her.

To go or not to go...that is the question

As many, if not all, of you know by now we are contemplating on moving to England, specifically just outside of London. This transition has been in the works for a long time and now we are in the final stages. The company that wants to hire Nate flew us out for a pre-decision trip over the weekend. I must say England is a nice country...nice people, pretty country side, easy to get around (if you aren't the one having to drive on the wrong side of the road), large variety of gummy candies and chocolates among other things. However visiting a country as a tourist is much different then visiting a country as a future resident. There is so much to think about, schools, social networking, getting used to crossing the street and looking the right way for on coming traffic!, medical and most importantly dental care for the girls (I understand now why the British have such bad teeth...no dental care for children, crazy). On our trip we had to ask ourselves "do we really want to live here??" and honestly after three days we were pretty much stumped. Yes it will be an adventure. Yes we will be able to see Europe. Yes our kids are the perfect age to pick up and go. Yes it will be good for Nate's career. So what's the hold up?? The main hold up for me is the big question of...will we be happy living so far from everything and everyone that has made our life so wonderful up until now?? So it is still to go or not to go....as promised we'll keep you posted.

Dear Santa

Yesterday we had an appointment with Santa at the library. Taylor was so enthralled and Kennedy was curious with the big man in red. After Santa told stories and and answered questions, we were waiting our turn to go sit on his lap and talk to Santa. They gave us a number for our family as we arrived and since we were a little late we were quite down the list at 31. We were talking with friends and Grandma and Grandpa Jeppson when one of my friends pointed out that Taylor was sitting on Santa's lap. It was so not our turn and I was not prepared. I ran over and put Kennedy on Santa's lap and snapped a quick picture. So not exactly how it was supposed to happen although Taylor knew exactly what she was doing and Santa told me that she told him what was on her wish list. Nate missed it all and we didn't get the family picture like I wanted. When we were in the car I asked Taylor why she went up when it wasn't our turn and she told us that it was taking too long and she didn't want to wait anymore. So she went ahead and took matters into her own hands I guess. At least we got some pictures!

Gearing up for Christmas

Crazy how fast Christmas crept up on us this year. We got back from Idaho and immediately got started on putting up all our decorations so we can enjoy them before we leave for Utah to spend a week with Grandma Ricks, aunt Christine and aunt Deborah. It has been so fun listening to Christmas music and see and feel the girls excitement for everything. Taylor especially is excited and fully gets the concept of Santa and presents. We helped start up the season again this year with the community Christmas festival with reindeer, Santa, crafts, and the beloved train. This year was pretty warm compared to prior years and so we really got to enjoy ourselves. We also didn't have to wait in the long line for Santa because we will see him later at a different function, luckily the girls we're fine with just seeing him! It has become a fun tradition for us and the girls just loved it.

(sorry for the blurry picture but I couldn't resist, it just shows how much they love this train)

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we headed to Sugar City, ID to be with the Jeppson side of the family. Nate's parents recently returned from a mission in Austria and so it was so nice to be with them and hear (and taste) all about the things they experienced. Taylor and Kennedy loved being with their cousins and Grandma and Grandpa Jeppson. We had a good visit with lots of good food. Thank you Grandma for all your hard work and hospitality while we were there!

Taylor was very excited to eat turkey since in school they memorized a poem about the turkey running away because people want to eat it for Thanksgiving, although like most all meat she would hardly touch it.
